Therapeutic Approach
It is my belief that every individual holds the capacity for awareness, growth, and change. The relationship you build with a therapist is the biggest indicator of personal growth and change. Everyone experiences challenges in their lives and my goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to explore those challenges.
I approach therapy from an attachment-based perspective. This entails looking at one's thoughts, feelings, behaviors and interactions and exploring the connections to early attachment experiences. I focus on building a collaborative therapeutic relationship, and utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, tailored to the needs of each individual client. These include Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, ego-sate work, and Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR),
I specialize in perinatal mental health, anxiety, trauma, depression, family conflict, and relationship stressors. I work primarily with adults, but also with adolescents 16 years and older. I have 14 years of experience working with adults, adolescents and children on a wide variety of issues or concerns.
